Now Hiring: Microsoft PPM Solutions Architect
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Microsoft PPM Microsoft PPM Solutions Architect is responsible for the overall design of Microsoft Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements. The Microsoft PPM Solutions Architect works as a team member along with the Engagement Manager, Sr Solutions Architects, Quality Manager, Developers and Technicians to deliver the complete solution for the customer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define customer business and functional requirements and facilitate customer sign-off of all requirements
- Design solutions that meet customer business and functional requirements
- Produce and maintain a detailed project schedule in concert with the Engagement Manager
- Produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements
- Co-team with the Technicians and Developers to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements
- Provide current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document
- Assist the Quality Manager in testing and UAT efforts
- Identify and facilitate change requests in concert with the Engagement Manager and Account Manager
- Ensure that projects are being delivered in time and budget in concert with the Engagement Manager
- Participate in training design, documentation, and delivery efforts in concert with the Engagement Manager
- Participate and lead, when needed, the project meetings with the customer
- Participate in internal projects as required
- Participate in pre-sales activities as required
- Participate in marketing efforts including presenting at events, writing content for newsletters, blog posts and social media
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities with customers and other team members as required
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Project Online and Microsoft Teams technologies and comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple priorities and possess excellent time management skills. Additional preferred qualifications are:
- S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience preferred
- Advanced experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Project Online, Power Platform and Microsoft Teams configuration and solution design
- Experience with other PPM software (Primavera, Clarity, AtTask, HP PPM, etc.)
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Good knowledge and understanding of Web Service API’s for integration purposes
- Ability to understand the business requirements and converting them into solution designs
- Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints
- Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
- Should have participated in, and be familiar with, Waterfall (PMBOK) and Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices
- Must maintain professional knowledge and relationships with the Microsoft ecosystem
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in professional services, sales or customer support operations
- 3-5 years of SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Project Online, Power Platform and Microsoft Teams systems integration and/or implementation experience
- Proven Solutions consulting experience in large enterprises
